![]() BIOGRAPHY Back in the day if you were lucky enough to get a new box of 64 crayons for school (with the built in sharpener), you were one of the cool kids! Today that 64-count box produces fond memories of the past. The members of the band wanted to inspire a similar feeling with music. They had a deep love and appreciation of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s music they listened to while growing up. The 64 Crayons Band was created to share the retro appeal of these diverse genres as well as the feeling of optimism that sparks from these eras of music. The Richmond Virginia based band is known for their wall of vocals, laid-back entertaining style and fresh arrangements of styles including classic rock, retro pop, blue-eyed soul, country and originals. The band members are veterans of various successful regional bands, have performed up and down the East Coast at thousands of events and shows, have played on hundreds of recording projects, and have shared the stage with dozens of musical icons including Charlie Daniels and even performed for the Queen of England! "My 65,” the band's first single was released with a music video in January of 2020. It's a song about not giving up on your dreams and recapturing your uninhibited self. The band was planning to release an album at then end of that year. Jody and Marna even went to Abbey Road in London to oversee song mastering by Miles Showell (who remastered the Beatles catalog!). And then the pandemic hit and put everything, including 64 Crayons music and shows, on hold. Fast forward >>> 64 Crayons has been out performing for the last few years as a duo, trio and band and is working toward releasing more singles and a 4-5 song EP in 2025.
