![]() BIOGRAPHY Back in the day if you were lucky enough to get a new box of 64 crayons for school (with the built in sharpener), you were one of the cool kids! Today the 64-count box, still considered the “Cadillac of Coloring,” produces a positive sense of nostalgia. The members of 64 Crayons have a deep love of the 70s, 80s and 90s music they listened to while growning up. So 64 Crayons seemed like a great name for a band that plays music that evokes fond memories of the past. The Richmond Virginia based acoustic band is known for their wall of vocals, laid-back entertaining style and fresh arrangements of classic rock, retro pop, blue-eyed soul, country and originals. The band members are veterans of various successful regional bands, have played on hundreds of recording projects, shared the stage with dozens of musical icons including Charlie Daniels and even performed for the Queen of England! "My 65,” the band's first single was released with a music video in January of 2020. It's a song about not giving up on your dreams and recapturing your uninhibited self. The band was planning to release an album at then end of that year. Jody and Marna even went to Abbey Road in London to oversee song mastering by Miles Showell (who remastered the Beatles catalog!). And then the pandemic hit and put everything, including 64 Crayons music and shows, on hold. Fast forward >>> 64 Crayons has been out performing for the last few years as a duo, trio and band. Their next single, “When The Wind Blows Cold,” will be released in July of 2023. The song is about that first love, who you didn’t end up with due to life’s circumstances, but still think about and then unexpectedly see from afar decades later. 64 Crayons is working toward releasing another single this fall and a 4-5 song EP by the end of the year.
